Replacement Trailer Tire Recommendation for Size 4.80-8

Question:

I purchased a small camp trailer and I am wanting to put new tires on it. It currently had 4.80-8 tires load range B. I was looking at the same size but getting the load range C tires. Is there a better option? I have concerns with towing this trailer long distances going to montana in the fall 500 miles each way. Are these tires built to tow that long of a distance?

Expert Reply:

The Load Range C tire in your size part # AM10004 would work well, but if you really don't need the additional capacity the B part # AM10002 would work too.

The Load Range C has a capacity of 745 lbs at 90 psi and the B has a capacity of 590 lbs at 60 psi.

Both tires are DOT approved and designed for highway use so they would work fine on your road trip.
