Roof Rack Recommendation for 2006 Mazda 5 with Fixed Mounting Points

Question:

Ive been looking at roof racks for my 2006 Mazda 5 and like the looks of the Rhino Rack RR77MR. My only question now would be whether the Rhino is markedly better than the lower-priced ROLA or INNO. The ROLA seems like it has some issues with installation from some reviews the INNO seems great, but square, which doesnt bother me too much - but if you have insight into why I might like the slightly more expensive Rhino, Id appreciate hearing it! Thanks -

Between the Rola, Inno, and Rhino-Rack roof racks you mentioned, I recommend sticking with the Rhino-Rack ROC25 # RR77MR. This rack will offer you the most streamlined look and will offer you the quietest ride.

The aerodynamic shape of the crossbars in the ROC25 system combined with the way the crossbars end at the rack's feet are what help to quiet the ride with this rack compared to a more traditional-design rack, such as the Inno Square Bar # INB117, # INXP, # INTR120 rack.

The DISCONTINUED Rola rack was the lower priced option, but it also has the lowest weight carrying capacity, offering only 110 pounds capacity compared to the Rhino-Rack's 165 pound capacity. Keep in mind your Mazda 5's roof carrying capacity may be less than 165 pounds. I was not able to find a capacity listed in the online owner's manual, but you can contact your local Mazda dealer to find our your roof's capacity.

Because of the higher weight capacity and the aerodynamic design, I recommend using the Rhino Rack # RR77MR. I've also attached links to our roof bike racks, cargo baskets and watersport carriers that are designed to fit the elliptical-shaped crossbars for you.
