The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 75338 that is confirmed as a fit for your 2005 Grand Cherokee is installed right behind the bumper.

In the attached instructions there are 2 plastic pins that hold the bumper fascia onto the bumper that have to be removed first. Then you need to slide the fascia rearward about an inch to install the trailer hitch.

Since you have a trailer hitch already installed, you will need to make sure it is bolted on and that a replacement trailer hitch can be installed. If so, these same pins will need to be removed and you will need to move the fascia rearward and remove the mounting hardware for the hitch you have on your Jeep. I do recommend using a spray lubricant like WD-40 and spray the fasteners to make then easier to remove.

I have attached a drawing from the instructions that shows where the plastic pins are located under the bumper fascia you can take a look at.
