Adding a 7-Way Trailer Connector to the Bed of a 1997 Ford F-350 for a 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

Hello, do you have a 7 way trailer connector kit so I can plug in my fifth wheel into the bed of my 1997 Ford F350? If so what is the part number and cost?

We do have the parts needed to add a 7-Way trailer connector to the bed of your 1997 Ford F-350. To determine exactly what you will need we have to first look at what type of trailer connector, if any, is on your truck.

If it came with a factory installed 7-Way at the bumper check to see if you can unplug a round connector from the back of the 7-Way socket. There may be some locking tabs that you have to disengage to disconnect it. If it is set up that way and the connector is round you can use # 41157. This connector Tees in right behind the 7-Way at the bumper.

If the truck has a factory 4-Way you will have to hardwire in a 7-Way. You can add one to the back of the truck using # ETBC7 and then use # HM20049. Or just use # 20023 to hardwire a 7-Way in the bed.

If the truck does not have any sort of trailer connector you can make hardwiring in a 7-Way easier by first installing a 4-Way, # 118316, cutting off the 4-Way and wiring its wires to # 20023 to get the lighting functions. Everything else will need to be hardwired in (brakes, 12 volt circuit, reverse lights (if the trailer needs them)).

Current pricing for all parts is listed on the product pages.
