The most cost effective solution to add brakes would be to use your existing hubs and drums and use new electric drum brake assemblies. We have several options in the electric drum brake for 3,500 pound axles category. First, we have basic etrailer.com 10 inch drum brakes, # AKEBRK-35L (left hand) and # AKEBRK-35R (right hand).
We also carry the etrailer.com Self Adjusting Electric Brake Assembly, # AKEBRK-35L-SA (left hand) and # AKEBRK-35R-SA (right hand). The advantage of these 10 inch brake assemblies is that they automatically adjust themselves, saving time and money. If you would rather not be hands-on with brake adjustments, the self adjusting option is the way to go. I have included several videos about these products and an install video for your reference.
