Ground Clearance with a Trailer Hitch Installed on a 2015 Volkswagen Passat
Question:
I have a 2015 Passat TDI and wonder how much ground clearance I will loose with the hitch. We have a steep driveway and the last vehicle would drag if we went in at the wrong angle. Thanks for your help.

Expert Reply:
When we installed the Draw-Tite part # 24880 on a 2015 Volkswagen Passat like yours we found that from the top of the hitch opening down to the ground it measured 10-1/4 inches. From the bottom of the hitch it would be right at 8-3/4 inches.
If you do have a pretty steep driveway I would imagine you would still need to approach it at an angle otherwise you may end up dragging.
