Worm Gear Winch Recommendation for Use as a Ceiling Hoist
Question:
Fulton Marine Jack - 5K - Square Tube, Fixed Mount Hello, Pertaining to Fulton Marine Jack - 5K - Square Tube, Fixed Mount I am interested in this jack for a different application. Do you know if it is able to function in tension rather then compression. I am interested to retrofit it as a hoist rather than a jack, Thank!

We have had this question before and our jack manufacturers don't rate their jacks for them to be used basically to retract weight as opposed to lift it.
Your best option would be a ceiling hoist worm gear winch like the Dutton Lainson part # DL10954 which is rated for 1,500 lbs.
