Recommended Hitch Adapter With Rise For 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan
Question:
Got a 2011 grand caravan and want to be able to tow a medium to heavy bike on the hitch but this hitch sits too low. Are there any either adapters or other hitches that can give me more clearance from the road. The bike carrier extends about 3 feet from the end of the van.

Using any hitch adapters in the trailer hitch on your Grand Caravan will reduce the trailer hitch capacity by 50 percent. From my research I found that you may have a Class ll or Class lll trailer hitch and it could have a 2 inch or 1-1/4 inch receiver opening.
We do not offer an adapter with a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening that fits 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch receivers. We do have adapters that fit a 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch and has a 2 inch receiver opening. For a 5-inch rise you could use part # HT5R.
If you have a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver on your Grand Caravan I am afraid we do not have an option that would install in a 2 inch hitch and also provide a rise for your bike rack.
Since all of the trailer hitches we offer for your vehicle use the same mounting holes they would have similar height for the receiver opening.
