Recommended Suspension Enhancement For 2001 Ford F-250 Towing A Fifth Wheel Trailer

Question:

I have a 2001 F250 short bed with a 5th Wheel hitch and Id like to put some air bags or helper springs on the rear to help with the load. Can you recommend some rear air bags or rubber type springs that will work with part # RP50082-58? This is the no-drill bracket that is mounted on the side of frame that the rails mount to. I looked at some of your springs and I cant tell if theyll work or not. Thanks much! I really value your guidance.

I have attached a photo of the # RP50082-58 bracket installed on a truck like yours. As you can see, there is no interference with the bump stop you have installed on the truck.

I recommend the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System, part # TFR250SDE for your 2001 F-250. These do not require any monitoring to make sure you have the system set correctly. When installed they will have about an inch clearance from the bottom of the spring to the axle, so the ride of your truck is not effected when the truck bed is empty. As more weight is added the spring provide support and helps take stress off of your suspension.

Adding any suspension enhancement will not increase the weight capacity of the vehicle and should only be used with a properly working suspension system on your truck.
