Brake Controller And Plug-In Adapter For 2002 Ford F-150 With Factory 4-Way Connector

Question:

I have a 2002 Ford F150 supercrew truck that I want to haul a trailer that has electric brakes as well as a Pollak seven blade connector. I purchased a hitch from etrailer to install on the truck to replace the bumper hitch that I already have. I now need an electric brake controller. The back of the truck has a 4 pin Ford flat connecter. Looking under the dashboard in the center, there is a seven pin trapezoidal plug that I think is for a brake controller, but I am not sure. In the end, I am looking for what I need to hook up my trailer with electric brake and Pollak connector to my truck with a new brake controller. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thak you,

We have just what you need to add a brake controller to your 2001 F-150.

The brake controller and harness I recommend is the P3, part # 90195 with # 3035-P. This is one of our most popular because it is easy to install and operate. The 3035-P harness simply plugs into the back of the brake controller and the other end plugs into the brake controller harness under the dash of your truck.

You then only need one more item to complete the installation. You will need the Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness, part # 118242. This plugs into the wiring located under the truck behind the rear tire on the truck frame rail. To make it easier to secure the wires you may want to make sure you have some electrical zip ties as they are not included.

To mount your new 7-way connector I recommend part # 18140. this attached to your trailer hitch and gives you a secure place to mount your connector without doing any additional drilling.
