Best Way to Carry Bicycles on 2013 Ford Fusion
Question:
Do you guys have a bike trunk mount for a 2013 ford fusion?

Expert Reply:
Trunk-mount type bike racks are not the best choice for your 2013 Ford Fusion since the car's thin trunk sheet metal and/or its hinge could be damaged by the weight of the bikes. Thule and Yakima do not recommend any trunk racks for your car for this reason.
The only really good way to carry bikes on your Fusion is to install a hitch and use a hitch-mount rack that completely avoids the concerns about denting or scratching your trunk lid. The bikes' weight is then carried by the car's frame - its strongest part.
Your Fusion can be fitted with a 1-1/4-inch hitch of either a Class I or a Class II rating; please see the linked page. I suggest the Curt Class II hitch # C12091 for its no-drilling bolt-on installation. An install video is linked for you.
In this hitch you can use a Class II-rated bike rack with up to 4-bike capacity. I linked our main page for all Class II hitch racks. Just click on the capacity you need and on other features that you like, such as included locks, for example. You can review the two linked articles too for help deciding on what racks best fit your bike types.
