2015 Mazda CX-5 Bike Rack Recommendation
Question:
part # TH911XT on 2015 Mazda CX-5 I am looking into a trunk rack for our CX-5 and Mazda indicated that we needed to be careful with trunk racks, due to damage they cause on the rear fin above the rear window... as these fins arent meant to be weight bearing. Just confirming before I order that these racks are designed to take that into consideration and not damage the rear fin? Thanks!

Thule has the Passage 3 part # TH911XT as a confirmed fit for your 2015 Mazda CX-5, but knowing what Mazda states about your vehicle I would strongly recommend you go the hitch route. Especially for a 3 bike rack that would end up weighing more.
A hitch option will allow you the peace of mind knowing that wouldn't be potentially damaging your brand new vehicle. The most popular option we have is the # 75217 which is a confirmed fit.
The most popular bike rack that would do well for carrying 3 bikes would be the Thule Hitching Post Pro part # TH934XTR. I attached a review video that shows this rack being used on your exact vehicle as well.
If you are set on getting a trunk rack the Hollywood Racks Expedition part # HRF2-3 has been confirmed as a fit for you vehicle and is designed specifically for fitting over factory spoilers.
If you plan on carrying any womens or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Swagman Easy-Out Women's and Alternative Frame Bike Adapter # 64005 to provide a horizontal top tube on your bikes to provide an attachment point. I attached a review video for this product also. This will allow the bikes to be carried more level and will provide more ground clearance.
