Trailer Hitch for 2016 Acura RDX for Use with Thule T2 Platform Rack and Pedego Bikes
Question:
Hello, I have a new 2016 Acura RDX. I want to purchase a hitch with 2inch receptacle and a Thule 916 XTR T2 bike rack for 2 Pedegos. Will all three hitches Curt, Hidden Hitch, Draw-Tite work on the car along with clearance for the bike rack when folded up without bikes installed? Thank you.

Expert Reply:
All three of the 2-inch hitches we offer for your 2016 Acura RDX, one of which is the Curt # C13130, will mount to the same points on your RDX. All will be in essentially the same position at the rear of the car, with the hitch pin hole about 3-1/2-inches from the rear edge of the bumper.
Of the three hitch options I suggest the Draw-Tite # 75784 since it is the lowest-cost hitch and since it does not require you to use a stabilizing strap which is required for the Curt hitch. Your Thule T2 hitch-mount platform rack will clear the rear of the vehicle even when folded up.
Since Pedego offers many different series of their electric bikes you'll want to check that the weight of your particular bikes does not exceed the capacity of your bike rack. The TH916XTR has a 60-lbs per bike capacity.
