Is Stabilizing Strap Needed For Curt Hitch C13206 or Will Clamp be Okay
Question:
Im installing a Curt 13206 on my 2014 Subaru Outback already ordered and on the way. In the past, I have always used a Hitch Clamp to help eliminate some of the wobble and movement between my cargo tray and the hitch. Is it still necessary to use the stabilizer strap, even though I have installed the hitch clamp? I generally load no more than 100 - 200 lbs on the cargo tray pellet smoker or ice chest. Thank you for your quick response.

Thanks so much for your purchase, and I can tell you that the Curt Cam Buckle Stabilizing Strap # 18050 is not a requirement for use with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13206.
While Curt does recommend the use of the strap, it is not needed in order to maintain the warranty. A clamp is an excellent idea for stability, so definitely continue to use a clamp like the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Stabilizer # e99007 or Curt Anti-Rattle Hitch Clamp # C27UR.
