Can Weight Distribution Be Installed on a V-Nose Trailer like a 2016 Diamond Car Hauler

Question:

jameson answered my question but I forgot to add pictures. let me know if there is something else you would recommend after seeing the pictures I have a 2016 diamond 8.5x24 v nose car hauler. The tow vehicle is a 2009 dodge ram 1500 crew cab 4x4. I would like to put a load distribution system on the trailer. What system will work for my trailer?

With a V-nose trailer you can still install a weight distribution system, but due to the shape of the trailer and how there won't be access above the frame where the chain hangers would go you would need to use the bolt on brackets like part # RP58305 instead of what comes with the kit.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

Once you know your tongue weight you will want to check out the link I attached that has all of the weight distribution systems we carry. You will be able to select your tongue weight from the filters to see what would be rated for your setup.

The part # RP66074 has a tongue weight range of 600-1,200 lbs and sway control that works to prevent sway before it starts. If your tongue weight falls in that range this kit would be a great option.

Hey thanks for getting back to me with the pictures! I have good news, since you have 32 inches from the center of your ball hole back to where the nose of your trailer starts you wouldn't have to use the frame brackets that I previously recommended. Typically V-nose trailer come further forward than yours and they are required, but your frame would have the clearance without needing them.
