Load Range C or D Recommendation for a Travel Trailer  

Question:

the trailer is a 1995 Wilderness fifth wheel travel trailer empty weight is 6000 pounds. Currently has 20125/75R 15 C tires..Should i consider a D rated tire for replacement?

If you have a tandem axle travel trailer that weighs 6,000 lbs a Load Range C tire like the part # AM1ST92 would work, but since you said that is the weight when empty you would most likely want to go with the Load Range D just to be safe.

For that you would want the part # AM10245 which has a 2,150 lbs at 65 psi capacity which is much more than the C. With 4 of these tires you would have a total of 8,600 lbs of tire capacity. That doesn't mean you can carry that much weight necessarily though since your overall capacity is only as strong as the weakest link.
