Trailer Hitch Recommendation For 2011 Scion xB

Hi, since there is no indicatiin of towing capacity in the owners manual of the scion xb 2011, I am wondering if its still possible to tow with this vehicule. I have a manual transmission and would like to put my side by side on a trailer and tow it with my xb, is this possible? Thank you for your help!

Since Toyota recommends not to tow with the xB I cannot recommend doing so, although it is done quite frequently.

In my research I found several people on both sides, some saying they do not tow with the xB, and others saying that they tow all the time. Most people that do tow say they do not tow anything over 1,000 lbs to be on the safe side.

The trailer hitch we offer for the xB I recommend is Curt Trailer Hitch, part # C12490. This is a Class ll hitch and it has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening. The recommended ball mount is part # C45521 with either the 1-7/8 inch hitch ball # 19256 or the 2 inch ball # 19258.

Then for a trailer wiring harness use part # 118460.

All non-trailer loads like bike racks, cargo carriers and so forth should be supported with stabilizing straps like part # 18050. Failure to properly support these loads will void your hitch warranty from Curt.
