Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for Use with Sidewinder Pin Box
Question:
We have a Dodge RAM 2500 Mega Cab, year 2007, 6 ft. bed. Installed is a CURT Q16. We want a Reese SideWinder. What hitch would you recommend for us? Does a Reese Hitch fit on Curt railings? Thank you.

I have a solution for you, but the Curt Q Series of fifth wheel hitches aren't compatible with Sidewinders. The jaws of these hitches are too wide for the Sidewinder. We've had a few people come back who tried to use a Sidewinder with a Q series hitch and it tore the head of the hitch up and didn't work right.
Instead you would need to go with a Reese hitch like you mentioned like the part # RP30047 as it would work great with a Sidewinder.
Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have now in order to pick out the correct one.
There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box of the trailer that will list the pin box number that is on the trailer.
Once you figure out which pin box you have you can check the FAQ I attached that has a chart that shows the correct Sidewinder to get based on which pin box you have.
