How to Wire Up Third Brake Light on a Truck for Camper Shell

I recently acquired a truck cap…..where do I tap into the third break light on a 2012 toyota tundra ?

Sounds like you are trying to wire up the third brake light of a camper shell.
You could use the third brake light at the top of the cap (if equipped) and tap into the brake light there by removing the light to access its wiring.
Or you could use a fuse tap and tap the stoplights and high mounted stoplight in instrument panel fuse block.
And finally, a place that installs camper shells may know of a wire under the truck that carriers a brake light only signal.
