Will Exhaust Hang lower When Installing Trailer Hitch On 2014 Ford Taurus
Question:
Do the integrated muffler hangers in the Curt hitch 13552 effect the original position of the mufflers/tips at all? Ive heard that it might cause the placement to be lowered as much as an inch from stock exhaust hangers.

When installing the Curt Hitch, part # C13379, the exhaust hangers will be attached to the tabs on the hitch plate instead of reinstalling in the original location. This may cause a slight change in the exhaust and exhaust tips when the hitch is installed. We haven't received any negative response from customers about the height of the exhaust as you mentioned.
I called my contact at Curt and they said the exhaust could potentially hang about an inch lower due to the hitch installation.
I checked out the installation of the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch, part # 75670 and the exhaust hangers are removed and then after the hitch is installed are re-installed in the original location so there will be no difference at all in the exhaust height you asked about. Because of your concern for the exhaust height I recommend part # 75670. I have attached a link to an installation video for the # 75670 on a 2014 Taurus you can take a look at.
If you are planning on towing with your Taurus and need trailer wiring I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118599. You just attach the harness to the connection points in the cargo area behind the tail lights of the Taurus, attach the white ground to a clean metal surface and you have a 4-way trailer connector. I attached a link to an installation video for this harness on a 2013 Taurus which will be similar to your 2014.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
For towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
