Oil Bath Seals for Kodiak Disc Brake Kit for 7K Axles and 8 on 6-1/2 Bolt Pattern

I ordered everything I needed to install the Kodiac Disc Brakes on Dexter D-70 axles. I ordered the 10-64 unitized wheel seals because I want to use oil instead of grease. I just wanted to double check that thats all I need.

Yes, using oil bath hub seals # 10-63 will work with the Kodiak disc brake kit you ordered, # K2HR79E. The kit already has the oil caps so you wouldn't need those.

The brake kit does not include the bearings. You would need 2 of # 25580 and 2 of # 02475.

I'd recommend the Kodiak kit part #K2HR79 as this fits a Dexter 7k trailer axle, has 1/2 inch diameter wheel studs, and also is Dacromet coated which means it will fight corrosion better than other options as well.

Kodiak recommends DOT 3 brake fluid with their brake kits like the #K2HR79 that you referenced. Most applications can easily flush and be filled with a liter or quart so that's what I would grab at your local auto parts store.
