Enclosed Trailer Ramp Dual Spring for 72 Inch Wide Door

Question:

Oh I got an answer from Mike L. I believe it to be the wrong answer. So I will ask again My trailer is 92 inches inside. The ramp door is 72 inches wide. Mike said use the 96 inch spring cut 2 inches off each end of pipe. Ok how are you going to get the pulleys to go in to 72 inches apart outside of pulleys so cables will be inside of the 72 inch door. I am thinking thats wrong. I think I need to use the ERS12081 and hope the pulleys can slide into 72 inches apart so the cables will be inside of the 72 inch wide ramp door. waiting for your reply. Above the door I have a header that is 5inch tall by the 92 inches wide inside of the trailer

You can use the 81 inch ramp spring # ERS120D81 if you would like. The springs and pulleys are held in place with set screws, so you can move the springs closer together and tighten the set screws down to keep the springs and the pulleys in place. I spoke with the manufacturer, M-3, and they said that this spring will work well on your 72 inch wide door. M-3 said the spring will work on doors down to 62 inches wide. You will want to position the pulleys as far apart as possible without the cables coming into contact with the door frame.
