Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2001 Mazda Miata
Question:
We have a LS Miata, 2001 and would like to provide it with a trailer hitch for light-duty hauling. The installation videos discuss different designs for the 2006 and 2010. Ours is one of the 1999-2005 model years. For your hitch will the chassis/exhaust design be compatible with your hitch? Thank you for your attention and assistance.

Expert Reply:
Both of the Curt trailer hitches, # C11755V, and # C11749 will fit your 2001 Mazda Miata. I actually recommend # C11755V because it comes with a ball mount and will be more hidden when not in use. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. And for trailer wiring you can use # 119178KIT.
Curt trailer hitch # C11028 will not fit a 2001 Miata.
