Yes, you will be able to install the Draw-Tite Activator IV Brake Controller, item # 5504, on your 1995 Chevrolet 2500 Silverado LS. You will not need the Universal Brake Control Wiring Adapter 1999-02 Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac, item # 3025-S, on the 1995 model because there is no factory port under the dash to plug the adapter in to. Chevrolet did not start putting the brake controller wiring port under the dash until 1999 so you will need to hard wire the brake controller on your 1995 model truck.
If you do not have any existing wiring at the rear of the 1995 Silverado, then you will need some other items to wire the brake controller. To start you will need a 4-Way connector, the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring for the 1995 C/K Series Pickup by Chevrolet, item # 118315, is an easy plug and play harness for your truck.
You will also need a Brake Controller 7 & 4 Way Installation Kit, item # ETBC7, to complete the installation. We have detailed instructions on our brake controller wiring from scratch page and a video of the ETBC7 kit being installed on a 1993 Chevy Suburban for you to review.
If you already have a 7-Way Or 6-Way connector at the back of your vehicle then you will just need to wire the brake controller and run the blue brake feed wire to the rear of the vehicle with 10-gauge wire, item # 10-1-1. Then you would need 10-gauge wire, item # 10-2-1 to run the black power wire for the brake controller to the battery positive post through a 20- or 30-amp circuit breaker (see brake controller instructions) and the white ground wire to the vehicle negative battery post.
Next, use a circuit tester, item # PTW2993, to connect the red wire from the brake controller to the cold side of the stop light switch behind the brake pedal, and the install will be complete.
