Helpful Expert Reply:
For your 2-door 2003 Ford Explorer Sport we offer both 1-1/4-inch Class II and 2-inch Class III hitches, but I recommend the higher-rated Class III type since it gives you more weight-carrying capacity and will be more compatible with most hitch-mount accessory items like cargo carriers and bike racks. All Class III hitches for your Explorer are shown on the linked page.
Curt round-tube hitch # 13540 that you referenced is a great choice since it installs without any drilling, let's you keep your full-size spare tire in place and is also the most cost-effective option. If higher capacity is required you can instead use square-tube Curt hitch # C13106 which offers a 500-lb tongue weight rating (as compared to 400-lbs for the 13540) but which still let's you keep your spare in place and also requires no drilling.
An install video for one of the other available hitches as well as a helpful article are linked to help your installation.
