Replacement 7-Way Trailer Connector for 2001 Ford Excursion
Question:
I need a replacement 7 blade factory tow package wiring harness for a Ford Excursion. The 118243 looks correct, but says it does not fit my excursion. I have the 7 blade connector now, but the wiring harness behind it is broken. I am holding it in place with zip ties. I need the connector that goes the couple feet back to the harness. Do you have this?

I'm not entirely sure what you're needing. The # 74682 is listed as a fit for your Excursion. It is designed to plug into the round US car connector that plugs into the back of the OEM 7-way.
Further back on the wiring harness is a rectangular connector that resembles that shown on the # 118243. We don't offer that portion of the harness, if that's what you're needing, you'd probably need to obtain that from your Ford dealer.
Another option would be the # HM40975-11998. You could cut off the damaged portion of the harness and wire it directly into the pigtail included with the connector. You could use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to determine which wire color serves which purpose. I've linked you to an install video that shows the wiring color code match up that's pretty typical for Ford, but always confirm using the tester.
