Ball Mount to Tow a Jayco Trailer with Coupler 16 Inches From Ground with a 2012 Audi Q7
Question:
Dear experts, I have a 2012 Audi Q7 and would like to purchase 13220 for my Jayco 154bh trailer, according to their official site, its 16inches off the ground. Id like to know, which ballmount should i purchase to go with this hitch? Thank you

We have yet to install Curt trailer hitch # 13220 on a 2012 Audi Q7 but on another vehicle that uses this same hitch it measured 18-1/2 inches from the ground to the top of the receiver opening. In that case you would use a ball mount with a 2-1/2 inch drop, or as close to that as possible, for a level coupler height of 16 inches.
The tongue weight of the trailer will pull down some at the ball so I recommend a ball mount with a 2 inch drop such as # D-4, Hitch Pin and Clip, # PC3, or a model with a 2-1/4 inch drop such as # C45030. Both are rated for 7,500 pounds gross trailer weight.
Another option is to use an adjustable ball mount such as # TK5007 which has a maximum rise of 9 inches and maximum drop of 10 inches. I have linked a video review of this ball mount for you.
