Comparing Curt and Tow Ready Trailer Wiring Harnesses for a 2014 Nissan Versa Note SL

Hi As far as I can tell my options are either the Curt C56206 or the Tow Ready 118582. It looks to me like the install of the Curt is a lot easier as it does not require running wires all the way to the battery. Is this correct? Is it as good/safe?

Like you mentioned, the Curt trailer wiring harness # C56206 for the 2014 Nissan Versa Note does not require a direct connection to the vehicle battery whereas Tow Ready harness # 118582 does.
At the back of the vehicle the installation of the harnesses will be the same. The only difference is that power wire on the Tow Ready harness. That power wire is what will power the trailer lights. With the Curt harness the trailer lights will be drawing on the vehicle tail light wiring.
Modern vehicles use small gauge wire for the tail lights and they are not rated for much power draw beyond its own lights. Using a powered converter like # 118582 is preferred because it takes the stress off of the vehicle's sensitive wiring and adds another level of circuit protection.
Routing the power wire is not difficult, it just takes some extra time. I have included a link to a help article with tips on routing the power wire if you choose to go with the Tow Ready harness.
