Recommended Hitch-Mount Platform-Style Bike Rack for 2015 Toyota Highlander with OEM Hitch
Question:
I have a 2015 Toyota Highlander with OEM hitch. Im looking for a hitch mount bike rack platform style. Ive read in various places that the Thule and Yakima require 1.5inch from center of locking pin to end of the receiver opening, however the factory hitch measures at 1.25. Can you recommend a hitch that allows for this? Thanks.

The OEM hitches supplied on some import vehicles do have a shallow depth from the rear-facing end of the receiver tube to the center of the hitch pin hole.
You can certainly use the Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Rack # Y02443 in your OEM hitch. You'll just want to check the distance from your hitch pin hole to the rear-most part of the vehicle to ensure enough clearance for the folded rack. The linked article illustrates. The HoldUp 2 provides 7 inches of clearance from the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the rack when folded up.
