2021 Ford Ranger

2”21 Ranger Lariet with rear tow hooks will still work with this hitch. At first it does not look like it will work. I loosened my spare and then installed the hitch and it worked out fine. Spare and all !

by:

Installation instructions were great. Especially the use of clamps to hold he bumper in place when removing the four bolts to mount the hitch bar.

by:
2000 Ford Ranger

I ordered a trailer hitch for my 2000 twent. A Ford Ranger on the 20th of November received it, November 22nd and it's already on my truck installed. It's a little hard to install it yourself. But it's duable and I've did it myself long as you've got a couple jacks holders or some kind of blocking to hold the Hitch up till you get the 4 bolts in and that's it..

by:

Easy install (by my self) Hitch is doing just I as hoped, and expected a hitch woud do.

by:

Great Hitch. Easy install 1st job was a 3000# payload 1100 mi over mtns, S. Carolina to western NY. Would recommend e-Trailer and Curt Hitches.

2019 Ford Ranger

Look, I am no wrench turner, but can do basic automotive tasks. This is easy. I didn't have a torque wrench, a lift or any fancy tools. I lowered my speare tire, used a hollow jack handle attached to my socket wrench, clamped the right and left frame tabs, removed 4 bolts (2 each side), and it fit like a glove. Applied a little bit of grease to the threads and torqued it back in place. As you can see, without the hitch, it is flush and doesn't protrude from the bumper. Made in America! Perfect fit! Easy install. Thanks etrailer!

Have been hauling by boat now for a year it is as solid now as it was the day I installed it. No rust, I expect this will outlast the life of the truck.

Great design, easy install (4bolts), high quality. Would recommend.

by:

Shipping was fast. Ordering process was simple. Install was easy (took longer to get out and put away the tools). After owning it a year and pulling many times, it is all good.
Don’t hesitate to order.

by:

It's good. It is there a year later, don't Even think about it.

2019 Ford Ranger

New hitch was delivered quickly. Easy to install. 2019 Ranger has a tab on the bumper and frame that I was able to temporarily use a bolt and nut through to hold the bumper in place while the bumper bolts were removed to position the hitch. I used a floor jack to position the hitch and then bolted it into place. Took about 30 minutes to complete installation.

2019 Ford Ranger

The receiver is a solid addition and a perfect fit on my 2019 Ford Ranger. The folks at etrailer are professionals all the way. The installation was easy for a 77 year old like me. I just followed the recommended instructions: 1)used vice grips to secure both sides of the existing bumper to the frame; 2)removed existing 21mm bolts, both sides (a 2' breaker bar helps); 3)aligned new receiver to existing holes in the frame; 4)replaced and tightened existing bolts (cleaned and greased them first).

Since I didn't have a helper handy, I had to support both ends of the receiver for step 3. The whole job took maybe an hour in my gravel driveway with me on my back on a piece of cardboard. You younger guys will likely be faster. I'm very pleased with the product and would recommend it to all. Just what I needed.

Beware, does NOT fit TREMOR model. Spare tire does not fit probably after hitch.

I did reach out to the manufacturer and while it is a tight fit, it is ok for the spare tire to touch the back of the hitch.

2019 Ford Ranger

Easiest receiver hitch I've ever installed! Used two quick clamps to hold the bumper to the frame per the instructions. 1/2" cordless impact gun zipped out the four bumper bolts. While laying under the truck, lifted the receiver up into place. Started one bolt on each side to hold the hitch. Started the two remaining bolts by hand, tightened all four with the impact. Removed the quick clamps, tightened to torque spec with a Snap-On 1/2" torque wrench. Done is less than 10 minutes.

by:

Received the hitch quicker than I thought.
Arrived
in good shape.
I watched the installation video before hand, so I was pretty much prepared. The actual installation would have been much easier if the guy in the video had been delivered along with the hitch - lol -
I had pretty good clearance under my Ranger, so I didn’t need a lift. I propped the hitch up on a 5 gallon bucket and was able to maneuver it into the bumper slots by myself. Definitely would have been easier with a second set of hands, but this 74 year old dude did it by himself in about an hour! Hardest part was getting the bolts out and tightening to the prescribed XXX foot pounds. (I’ll ask a mechanic friend to check that with a torque wrench later).

by:
2020 Ford Ranger

The Curt hitch was on backorder and arrived much quicker than expected. It was a simple install, only took about 15 to 20 minutes. One note of caution, the torque value in the instruction sheet states 196 ft-lbs, should only be 146 ft-lbs for a 2019+ Ranger. Once installed, it looks great on the truck.

Thanks to etrailer for offering a great product and great service!

by:

Great value for the money. Installation for a "novice" is a little trickier than advertised. For a 2021 Ford Ranger, you need a 21mm deep socket, torque wrench, robust c-clamps, as well as a second person to hold the receiver in place while the bolts are re-installed. I had to drop the spare to fit the receiver in place so that added more time. But overall, I'm very happy with the finished product though installation took a little longer than anticipated.

by:

Installed myself without a hitch , works perfect

2021 Ford Ranger

Wonderful! Was a great price and shipping. Great quality and fit. Me and my teen daughter crawled under my 2021 Ranger XL and using just a wrench we had it on in 10-15 minutes. Easiest with an extra hand but you could clamp it up or other methods to help hold it till bolted. Have pulled three different trailers no issues. Love it. Thanks.

by:

It went on in about 16 minutes. Fit perfectly used it today to hold my bike rack. Very happy with the product, the service. The whole experience exceeded my expectation. Thanks

  • Comparing the etrailer and Curt Hitches for a 2021 Ford Ranger
You are correct that the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e63ZR and the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13417 for your 2021 Ford Ranger are almost identical. Both of these hitches are made in the USA, have a bolt-on, no-drill installation and have the same weight capacities. They will also both provide you with a 2" hitch receiver which is the most common size used for hitch mounted accessories such as bike racks, cargo carriers and ball mounts. If your 2020 Ford Ranger Lariat has the factory towing package it will have a factory installed trailer hitch receiver, and a 4-way/7-way connector. If you do not have these components then your truck does not have the factory towing package. To add these components you would need the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13417, and the Curt T-Connector 7-way Connector # C56431 as both of these components are a confirmed fit for your truck. • Will The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Fit With Larger Spare Tire On 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor?
Yes, the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e63ZR will fit your 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor. Yes, we do have a Shocker Hitch that will work great with the Curt Hitch item # C13417 on your 2023 Ford Ranger. It is the Shocker Hitch Air Cushioned Ball Mount item # SHK89VR. This cushioned ball mount has a 10,000 lbs capacity and comes with a 2" hitch ball. It will provide you with 4-1/2" - 7-1/2" drop. The main difference between the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e63ZR and the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13417 for a 2021 Ford Ranger is the finishes on the hitches. • Will The Curt Or etrailer Hitch Maximize My 2021 Ford Rangers Towing Capacity?
You are not necessarily incorrect about your 2021 Ford Ranger being limited to 3,500 pounds, but there is a caveat to this. The 3,500 pound tow rated is only when you are using the bumper as a hitch. I included a picture showing what I mean by that as well. When using a conventional hitch, like the Curt # C13417 or etrailer # e63ZR, you are looking at a maximum towing capacity of 7,500 pounds. This means you also have 750 pounds of tongue weight and will indeed have a lot more options for...

  • Do The Towing Capacity Differences of Curt and etrailer Trailer Hitches For 2021 Ford Ranger Matter
I looked up the capacities of your 2021 Ford Ranger and found that as long as the trailer you are pulling has trailer brakes then your truck will have a maximum towing capacity of 7,500lbs. If you're concerned about somebody actually unbolting and making off with the hitch, we don't have a lock that would secure the hitch to the vehicle, but you could have a welder tack the mounting bolts in place so they'd be pretty difficult to remove.
