Recommended Install Method for the Ultra-Fab Skid Wheels
Question:
I just purchased the 6inch skid wheels. The directions specify using U-bolts for installation. Do you have the U-bolts? This is for a 2002 Travel Supreme 40foot Fifth Wheel.

Actually the preferred mounting method for installing the Ultra-Fab Skid Wheels part # UF48-979013 is to have them welded on. See the attached install link.
You can use U-bolts to install these skid wheels as well though. I spoke with my contact at Ultra-Fab and you will want to use at least a grade 5 U-bolt, which can be found at most local hardware stores, when mounting the skid wheels. Since the mounting holes that you will want to use measure 5-1/4" apart, he also recommends using some type of block on each side of your hitch cross member to fill the gap between it and the U-bolt. This will help to ensure that there won't be any movement of the skid wheels on the cross member.
