Can Power Wires on 4- to 7-Way Adapter and Powered Converter Use Same Power Wire

Question:

I have a 2010 Toyota Venza. My camp trailer has a 7 pole connector to charge the RV battery. There is no trailer brakes or back up lights needed. I have ordered this harness #118482 and a 7 pole adapter #30717. I will only connect the black power wire through a 40 amp circuit breaker to the battery. My question is: The instructions for the 4 pole connector harness say to run a power wire to the battery and the 7 pole adapter instructions also say to run a power wire. Since I am combining the wiring harness and the adapter do I need to run both wires and attach both grounds? If not which one should I use? Thank you

You can just use 1 power wire for both the 4- to 7-Way adapter # 30717 and the T-one harness # 118482. You would use the power wire and 40 amp circuit breaker but between that power wire and the converter box on harness # 118482 you would still use the in line yellow fuse holder and fuse.

On the adapter be sure to ground the white wire to the frame or the connector will not work.
