Does this wiring harness plug in under the drivers side door and then route back to the rear of the truck bed?

Basically you will just plug this harness in line with the 7-way you have at the rear of your truck and then you will route the included 7-way up to the bed of your truck where you plan to install the harness.

While the trailer connector of your 2008 Dodge Ram might have 8 pins only 7 of them are active. If you check out the connectors of the #20111 that fits your truck you can see that it only has 7 pins active and a few empty slots.
