Do Trailer Tires Need to Be Inflated to Max Pressure at all Times

Question:

Good morning Im needing to replace the tires on my boat trailer. I have a single axle trailer with 205/75/R14 tires rated at 1760lbs at 50psi. My question is if I upgrade to a 215/75/R14 that is rated at 2200lbs at 65 psi do I have to run that tire at that tire pressure even though my load is lighter..

Special trailer tires should be inflated to their maximum air pressure at all times. At the maximum air pressure, the tires will perform and wear best, and get the best gas mileage. Even though you don't need the full tire weight capacity you still will want to use the max tire pressure.

I attached a help article on trailer tires for you to check out as well.
