Can 12 Inch Wheels And Tires Be Replaced With 15 Inch Wheels And Tires On Camper Trailer
Question:
Id like to use my tear trailer for back country camping. Ive had flat tire problems with the small 12 inch wheel/tire set currently on the trailer. Is it possible to replace the original wheels and tires with larger ones? Ideally would like to use the same wheel and tire size used on my towing vehicle 15 inch.

The main concern when you want to install bigger tires and wheels on your trailer. You will want to make sure you have the clearance needed for new tires and wheels. Going from 12 inch tires to a 15 inch is going to raise the trailer substantially.
A typical 12 inch tire we offer has a range from about 20 to 22 inches diameter. If you put 15 inch tires on the trailer that diameter can range from 27 to about 28-1/2 inches. Increasing the tire and wheel size on your trailer will not increase the weight carrying capacity for your trailer.
You will need to make sure you match the wheel bolt pattern for the new wheels as well. I have attached some helpful articles you can check out.

Vredestein apparently has a Quatrac 5 in 145-65R15. That should have a diameter of 22.5ish inches, right?
