Can I Transfer 5th Wheel Hitch Base Rails from a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 to a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500
Question:
I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 and I need to put a fifth wheel hitch in it. I have the hitch installed in a 1999 dodge 2500 and I was wondering if I could just transfer the rails or if I would need to get new ones.

Your 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 base rails can transfer to your 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 (because they are in the same generation). You will need to get new custom fit wiring # HM42137 (the 1999 custom fit wiring is # C56001) & replacement hardware kit for Draw-Tite and Reese 5th wheel hitches # 58164.
I included a couple installation videos and a helpful article for you too.
