How to Install a Brake Controller on my 1999 Ford F-150 with Factory 4-Way
Question:
I bought the item #5504 and the adapter for my 1999 F150 truck with a flat 4 pole...I nned to know do I just plug this into the plug under my dash,,it will plug in with the adapter..what I need to know is in the instruction that came with the 5504 brake control says, I have to run a wire...the question is,,is does this plug in and work or do I have to run a wire,? If so where do I run the wire from on the brake control? Hope you can and...I also bought the 7round plug with adapter for the back of my truck the truck factory comes with flat 4 pole...it shows just to lower tire and plug in and hook ground wire to frame....and all should work...is this all true is everything plug and play or am I going to have to run wires myself?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Since your 1999 Ford F-150 has a factory 4-way, and have the correct plug-in wiring adapter # 3035-P (plug one end of adapter into your brake controller # 5504 and other end into the built-in harness beneath your dash). Based on what you referenced you probably have this already, but go through the help articles and videos showing typical installations. Once you mount the brake controller and plug it in, installation is complete.
I also included a few informative articles, installation video and video review for you too.
