Can Electric Trailer Brakes be Added to a Harbor Freight Kit Trailer

Question:

Will these trailer brakes work on this harbor freight trailer? 90154 Or this trailer? 69897 It might be overkill but Im gonna make a tear camper out of this trailer and it will be towed up and down the big mountains of the west. Thanks.

Neither of those Harbor Freight trailers has brake mounting flanges on the spindles. To add electric brakes you would have to have brake mounting flanges welded on. This is a precision job that requires a special jig and someone with experience in welding on flanges. I have included a link to the flanges we carry to the right.

You would also need to replace the idler hubs on the trailer(s) with hub and drum assemblies. The problem with that is the Harbor Freight trailers use uncommon bearings so hub and drum assemblies are not available unless through Haul Master, the manufacturer of the trailers.
