Trailer Brake Controller Installation in 1999 Ford F-150 2WD Supercab
Question:
I have 99 F150 2WD Supercab. Existing harness connect or near rear is 12 position. Do I need to run wires dash to rear to add brake controller ?

The specifics of trailer brake controller installation in your 1999 Ford F-150 depend on how it was equipped from the factory.
If the truck has a factory-installed 7-way trailer socket it will also have a connection port under the dash that allows for quick and easy controller installation. For instance, the Prodigy P3 # 90195 can install by plugging in the matching wiring adapter # 3035-P. If the truck has a factory 4-pole harness then you will need these same parts plus kit # 118242. If the truck does not have factory connectors you will be able to hard wire the controller using kit # ETBC7 and a 4-pole kit like # C56031.
