Hitch Recommendation for a 2011 Jayco Fifth Wheel

Question:

What hitch would be best for the rear of my 2011 jayco 5th wheel ? Is there a hitch that would be suitable for a semi heavy load plateform, somthing that would hold up to 500 lbs ? Im looking for somthing that I can carry a Keene dredge for prospecting. Thanks

If the frame of your 2011 Jayco is between 18 and 51 inches apart you would want the Curt Adjustable Hitch part # C13701 as it has a 6,000 lb total trailer rating and a 500 lb tongue weight rating. You will need to contact Jayco to determine what the capacity of the trailer is when a hitch is installed on it. Be sure not to exceed the lower of the two capacities (hitch and trailer).

If you plan to use this with a cargo carrier you will need to make sure it is rated for use behind and RV or trailer. The ride quality is much rougher at the back of a trailer so you will have to use a carrier rated for this. Currently we don't carry any cargo carriers that are rated for use behind an RV.
