The type of trailer hitch that is offered for your 2009 Honda Accord 4-door sedan is a light-duty 1-1/4-inch Class I type. A Class I hitch has sufficient strength to handle the weight of only 2 bikes. The linked article on hitch classes will give you more detail on the capacities of trailer hitches.

Of all the available options (linked below) I suggest the Curt Hitch item # C11496 for its lower cost and relatively simple installation. This hitch will install without any drilling using the included fasteners. Two articles on hitch installation, as well as a detailed step-by-step video, are linked for you. If you plan to do the install yourself, and many of our customers do, you will need one specialized tool, a torque wrench, in addition to standard hand tools.

As long as your electric bikes do not weigh more than 65-lbs each, you can use the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202 in the hitch.

Your kids bikes will need to be carried on the vehicle's roof, using a roof rack. The most cost-effective roof rack for your 4-door Accord is the SportRack # SR1010. With this square bar rack you can use one of the carriers shown on the provided link, such as the Swagman # S64720.
