Comparing Curt Trailer Hitch # C11085 and # 11496 for a 2008 Honda Accord

Question:

Im trying to decide on which hitch to get for my 2008 Honda Accord LX sedan 4 cyl. Ive narrowed it down to the 2 Curt models available 11496 and C11085. Aside from the aesthetic differences between these two and the price difference, why should I get one over the other? Thank you.

The differences between Curt Trailer Hitch # C11085 and # 11496 are so few, it really only comes down to aesthetics. Both hitches have the same capacity, they install the same way, and they both come with a ball mount, pin and clip. Besides price, the only differences is in the cross tubing. Trailer hitch # 11496 is at a direct angle while # C11085 is more of a gentle curve. A lot of people want as much of the hitch hidden as possible so I would go with # 11496. I have included a link to the installation details for you to view.

If you plan on doing some towing, the hitch comes with a ball mount and you can use ball # 19256 (1-7/8 inch diameter) or # 19258 (2 inch diameter). For trailer wiring, use # 118420.

If you plan to use the rack for a bike rack or other non-trailer loads, in order to be in compliance with Curt warranty requirements, all non-trailer loads must be secured with a stabilization strap like # 18050. The Curt hitches are the only ones that one this requirement.
