Is Curt Gooseneck Ball Centered Over Rear Axle on a 2001 Dodge Ram
Question:
Is the ball centered over the rear axle
asked by: Bill K
Expert Reply:
On the Curt gooseneck trailer hitch # C61509-52 the instructions indicated to place the rear most cross member 3 to 6 inches forward of the rear axle. This would put the ball forward for the rear axle but not centered over it. I have linked the instructions for you.
A similar hitch # 8339-4439 only specifies that the center line of the ball must be forward of the center line of the rear axle. These types of gooseneck hitches have a little less definitive instruction in terms of where the ball has to be compared to a hitch such as # C60734.
