Ellen: Hey, everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. We're taking a quick look at the Replacement Gear Pack for your Solera Awning. If you've had any issues with your Solera awning and you're replacing those parts, this is going to be a piece that you're going to need. This goes into the motor for that awning arm. The gear of that comes in here and sits in there and turns your awning.
SO, if you want to get a closer look to make sure that this works with yours, you can see that here. It's going to have our four small gears inside a larger gear wheel. So as that motor is turning, I'll just use my finger here to demonstrate, it's going to, oops, turn the whole thing, which is kind of hard to do without actually having a tool to do that. But all those little guys move inside, and as you can see, they are just resting inside here. So you want to be careful not to flip it over or else it will all pop out.It has a new rubber O-ring to keep that sealed up.
It's probably not a bad idea to put a little bit of grease in here just to make sure that things are going to move really nice and evenly. And then it does also have a trim ring to go with this. The part number that this works with is listed on the product page here at etrailer.com. That is LC266149. That's the part number for your awning motor.
This is going to be compatible with that motor. The other side, holding it all together, looks like that. I was so pleased with this purchase. etrailer was the only place I could find this part. It arrived before the estimated delivery and I installed it without an issue. My awning is now working as it should.
The repair shops all quoted $600 (parts) to $2500 (new awning).
They gave me no hope for a sensible repair. This part was easy to find on the website. I could match the parts because of good images. I was 90% certain we had the right part before it shipped.
This is the best-when the part arrived it was a perfect fit and I was done with the project in 30 minutes.
All for less than $100. I will always shop here. I know parts will wear out and break. Knowing E Trailer has the support I need means my weekend will not be ruined by a problem or breakage.
Found the parts I needed here.....ordered by phone. Customer service lady was super nice and very helpful. Got my parts a day early. Great experience!!!!
F’g junk! I spent several hundreds having a welder repair ir twice. Replaced it once from you, left NC 1 yr ago
o & am ready to move again. But the damn thing won’t work- feel like cutting it off to replace with manual. Yours has never worked but one time a year ago. I even Gorrila taped it up for transport. Never again!! Also as a 83 yr old widow I have each time had to hire a repair man to do the work.
Same as original. Used bolts,washers, and locking nuts to make more of a secure and tighter fit. Not sure who thought self tapping screws would hold up over time. The engineers of this one really "stepped up". Hopefully it lasts but unsure. It's a stupid design over all but glad etrailer has the parts I needed.
Gear pack worked as it intended to! Excellent product from an excellent company! Fit in my 14’ solera awning! Was quoted about $400 to have someone come out and look at it and maybe try to see what was wrong with my awning. Decided to take matters into my own hands and with a help of[{online] I was able to figure out what parts I needed and how to fix it. Took me about 20min to fix my awning. Now it’s up and running again! Thanks etrailer for your service and support! Saved me a little over $300!

It’s been about a year now with this part and it’s till running like a charm! No complaints at all I’m fact, I was able to help a few RV’ers with the same issue! Thanks again etrailer! Can’t recommend you guys enough!
Part went right on, no issues.
It might be helpful though to have an instruction sheet. If I didn't know myself where the oring went, I could see how it could cause confusion
Put the part in and tested it out..no problems…
Just brought the trailer out for its first trip since the install While letting the awning out for the first time it broke again. Plastic sleeve seems to be the culprit. No chance of finding one here so zip ties hopefully will hold it until I get home.
I guess you have keep buying them until you get one that works:)
Doesn’t seem to be any better than the factory one. Installed it, worked great for about a week. Only pulled in the awning 2 times during that time and the third time it flew back out to discover it did the same thing as the factory one did!

Easy to replace, after reading a lot of articles and research, slightly concerned about the reliability new part. But that can go for a lot of things. Overall went well
Great , I wanted the gears as a spare set! My awning has been giving me trouble, so now I have spare gears and pins, which have sheared at least once. Thanks for the spare parts.
Like others have said, this part is weak and the whole set up is a poor design. The original gear pack on our awning shattered after maybe 5 uses, and our camper is barely 2 years old!. We order this replacement gear pack, which to our dismay, shattered on the second use. We are now on our third one, and I need to order a spare knowing the current one will likely fail as well, but at $60 a pop the price is adding up. It is disappointing when you are packing up to vacate your spot by the check out time and bang, the awning springs to life when you are trying to roll it in and it won't roll up! It is bummer to have to organize friends and neighbors to help roll up the awning by hand. We have a system now though.....bring tools to unhitch campground picnic table, move the table under the awning so you can stand on it while rolling in the awning by hand while your friends push the support arms into place, then strap the frame to the camper so at least you can drive home.....finally, replace picnic table and any mounts disassembled in step 1. We permanently mounted straps on our awning frame to strap the thing to the side of the camper when traveling because I'd hate to see this gear pack shatter while driving on the interstate!

Ive read other reviews and agree its a poor design. Will update my review once its been tested for a few months. I havent been able to find a manual that shows installation procedures but i took pics as i took it apart and its all i had. Easy to install if you pay attention during dismantling.
Our awning was not retracting. We found that drive head motor was stripped. This fixed out issue and our awning was back to normal! Easy install.

I am glad that you were at home, so you didn't get stranded. But I'm sorry to hear this replacement didn't work for you. It seems that this is pretty common for this product, and that other neighbors have had this same issue. Bear with me on this, I am working with the manufacturer to get to the bottom of why this keeps happening.
