Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Lippert 1621 5th wheel pin box. Has a 15,500 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now, this pin box will serve as a direct replacement for a worn or damaged Lippert 1621 pin box that's on your 5th wheel trailer. The king pin right up front here, this is where it'll connect to any 5th wheel trailer hitch.
That is a nice, durable steel construction. You can see the whole piece is a nice, black powder coat finish to it to resist rust and corrosion. And it is a bolt-on installation. It does attach to your trailer frame with the existing hardware. It'll bolt into place along the two rows of bolt holes.
Now, one thing I do wanna mention is you do wanna make note of the bolt hole locations of your factory installed pin box cause you wanna mount this pin box in those same hole settings using that factory hardware. Now, because of the weight of this unit, it's about 99 pounds, you'll probably want a friend to help you lift it into place during installation. This part is made in the USA. And again, the weight capacity on this is 15,500 pounds. But that should do it for the review on this Lippert 1621 5th wheel pin box with the 15,500 pound gross towing weight capacity..

Hitch king pin box was a perfect fit and installed easily. I just finished hauling the trailer with it on a 5000 mile trip and it worked flawlessly.
First time using etrailer so I wasn't sure what to expect. But they were fast, efficient and keep us updated throughout the shipment. This was a replacement part for a customer shipping their cargo on us to Nome and it had to get here on time, very pleased with the service and follow through.

For those of you who, like me, may have purchased a truck with the under the bed rail system for your fifth wheel you know the positioning of the rail system is set in front of the rear axle instead of directly above the axle making the distance between the cab and trailer that much closer. This can cause a problem hooking up with your tail gate in the down position if you have a medium length pin box on your trailer. etrailer has a great chart online to help you determine what kind of pin box you have and if there is another one manufactured that will fit in the same place. This longer pin box for me was a great economical, safe solution. The Lippert 1716 long box is a direct replacement for the Lippert 1116 medium box, but is seven inches longer giving me the needed distance to hook up.
Perfect fit and easy to change out. Beyyer yet the pin length os perfect.

I was greatly surprised to find that the replacement hitch had been re-engineered. I was expecting to add reinforcement to the hitch before mounting it to the trailer. I had previously bent two hitches when I had to jump on the brakes when cut off by idiots on the highway. From what I seen in this hitch I believe it will now do what I need it to do!! Thank You
because of the way it was packed or miss handled by ups people the box broke /was distroyed delaying delivery of the item and slight damage to the item which i will repair as i need to complete the install.

I was happy with the price. I should fit perfectly and go on our camper with very little problems. It arrived at our home in approximately 3 days from when I ordered. which to me seemed very fast. I was however when I found it at my house the package was torn open many different ways. i'm using it to replace the factory hitch. I would etrailer for anything RV related.
Well, unfortunately half inch off - my bad. So, had to get someone to fix it. Once it was on, it worked great.
The order was good but was delivered to 3601 Highway 4 should have been delivered to 3601 CR 424. Shipping label had correct address. Please contact shipper and tell them to READ shipping label!

Ive taken a couple more trips with it and its still working perfectly a year later. Id highly recommend it.
