THE HITCH WILL BE ATTACHED TO OUR 550 FORD 4WD EMERGENCY TRUCK ( VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT ) I WILL NEED TO DRILL 2 ADDITIONAL HOLES IN THE STEP BUMPER. I LIKED THE ENDS THAT YOU ATTACH THE SAFETY CHAINS. THE TRUCK WILL PULL OUR TRAILER WITH OUR TERREX ATV
HAVING THE CORRECT HARDWARE IN THE BOX IS GREAT

by: 04/29/2021

Solid, quality product. The bolt threads were a bit "short" so I had to buy some big washers to make up the distance and allow the nuts to fully tighten. Also, I looked up the torque specs on those grade 8 bolts to get the proper torque rather than what the instructions said: "Make sure to tighten them really tight". Overall pleased.

The bumper hitch was exactly what I needed. It is perfect for attaching a wheelchair carrier to the step bumper of my Silverado pick-up. After I placed my order I recieved a confirming e-mail of the order. I recieved an e-mail the next day informing me that my order had shipped along with the tracking number. I recieved my order a few days later and installed it on my bumper in barely 5 minutes! I will definitely use E-Trailer for all future trailer hitch needs.

This hitch should fit your 2002 Silverado with a step bumper, and yes you will need to drill for the installation.

by:

Very prompt delivery! Product is just as described. I will try / do the install tomorrow and follow up at that time. I do not expect any issues, but you never know till its complete. This is hopeful is going to lower the hitch height to enable the level towing of a vintage trailer.

Works grate! Did just what I needed.

by:

Product was easy to locate, webset easy to use. Hitch installed easily, Did require slight mount adjustment by drilling. The product description did give adequate forewarning of mounting adjustment. Spacers included were great. Would recommend “ETRAILER”!

All is well

by:

For the price this is well worth it. The staff was very fast to respond to any questions i had. I am only using this for a bike rack and it worked perfectly. If you have to drill all holes in your bumper, make sure you are using a drill with a cord. The batteries will not last. I would def buy another product from this firm. This was a great quality product.

After a brutal winter the product is still holding up great.

by:

Super fast shipping and service. This unit fit my aftermarket step bumper just fine. I only had to drill two holes for the included 1/2 inch bolts. The 3/4 inch bolts lined up perfectly. I wish all things were this simple.

Hitch is great. No signs of rust on the finish or bolts.

by:

The shipping was quicker than I expected. However, the bumper hitch didn't work well with my 1993 Nissan pickup with its step bumper. My bumper is too light and the mounting surface of the E-3S hitch is bowed, so it tended to try to pull my bumper apart in tightening. If you have a heavy bumper plate to bolt the hitch to, it should work great.

by:

Nice heavy hitch, installed easy and worked great.
Would recommend it to anyone looking for a light trailer bumper hitch.

by:

I'm building my own trailer hitch for my classic 1955 F350. I like this receiver because it'll provide a large, flat base to weld to the 2x4 heavy steel tube.

by:

The hitch is perfect for hauling anything we toss in the trailer from hay to wood to dwelling clean-outs, it has earned its value.

by:

The finish is great, I was going to weld this to the front of my tractor, but know I am going to weld mountig brackets to the tractor so I can bolt it on and not mess up the powder coating.

by:

Very easy to install, took less than 30 minutes. I wasn't sure of the grade of bolts that were included, so I upgraded to Grade 8 bolts. I'm very pleased with hitch and have already put it to the test.

by:

The hitch is going on a one off build and is exactly what I needed. WELL MADE Only Mother natures delivery of 12" of snow delayed your delivery!

by:

Like my other orders from etrailer I received exactly what was ordered packaged correctly and on time. Thank you etrailer

by:

Perfect for the application

  • Hitch Recommendation for a 2004 Toyota Tundra SR5
In order to determine whether or not the Curt Specialty Trailer Hitches # E-3S would fit on your 2004 Toyota Tundra without drilling you will need to check out the picture I attached that shows the dimensions of the mounting holes for this hitch and compare them to your bumper. You should note that while this hitch is rated for 500 lb of tongue weight and 5,000 lbs of gross trailer weight you will still need to avoid exceeding the weight capacity of the bumper of your vehicle. • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for the Step Bumper on a 2010 Ford Ranger
If the bumper itself has a hole for a ball then you could just use the bumper to tow. Consult the owners manual for the capacity (usually up to 3,500 pounds on many applications, the owners manual should have the correct information). If you need to add a receiver then a hitch like # E-3S is going to be the best option. Take a look at the picture I have included to see the mounting hole dimensions. I have also linked the instructions for you. I have also included a link to the frame mount...

We have trailer hitches that would likely fit your 2006 Keystone Raptor. However, you will want to check the laws in your state and where you will be traveling because in some places tandem towing (towing something behind a trailer that is also being towed) can be illegal. So if it is legal where you will be going then take a look at the following 2 hitches. First we have # C13702 rated for 5,000 pounds and fits frame widths from 18 inches to 51 inches. I pulled the Curt Bumper Mount Hitch, # E-3S, from the warehouse and made a video showing you the measurements that you were asking for. The wider holes, closest to the receiver opening, are 1-1/4 inches wide and accept a 3/4 inch diameter bolt. The bolt holes measure 10-3/4 inches at their widest points and 7-1/4 inches at their closest point. With the bolts set at the widest point, they measure 9 inches apart on center and 8 inches apart at the closest point.

  • Can the Bumper Mounted Trailer Hitch be Installed Under the Step Bumper of a 2000 Ford Ranger
I spoke with my contact at Curt, the manufacturer, about the Bumper Mounted Hitch, # E-3S, and the compatibility with your 2000 Ford Ranger. He stated that the total width, side to side, is just under 14 inches. From the front of the receiver opening to the back of the plate is 6 inches. The plate itself measures 4 inches front to back. The hitch can be mounted under the step bumper if you have mounting holes that measure 8-3/4 inches from center to center on your bumper.

The Curt 2-Inch Bumper-Mount Hitch # E-3S that you referenced can be installed in an inverted position (on top of your bumper step rather than underneath it) without loss of capacity according to my contact at Curt. The concern to keep in mind is that you will need to keep your choice of ball mount to one with rise or drop of no more than 8-inches. If your tow vehicle and trailer heights require a ball mount of no more than 8-inches of rise or drop you should be fine mounting this hitch...

It sounds like you are talking about using a ball mount that has a rise in the shank of 5 to 6 inches. Using a ball mount in the rise or drop position does not decrease the gross trailer weight of tongue weight capacities of Curt trailer hitch # E-3S.
