Video Transcript for Review of Derale Radiator Fans - Radiator Fans - D16765

Today we're going to take a look at the Derale 40 and 60-amp Dual Relay Wiring Harnesses for a Dual Fan Assembly. Now basically if your electric fan including the one on your remote fan-mounted cooler draws more than 10-amps of power a relay is always recommended to prevent any disruption of your vehicle's electrical system. This kit here will come with two heavy-duty 40/60-amp relay harnesses with the air conditioning override circuit. The air conditioning override circuit will engage the fan automatically whenever the air conditioner's turned on to help compensate for increased engine load. The relays right here on the end here, these will prevent disruption of your vehicle's electrical system and is recommended for fans that are pulling more than 10-amps. It does come with a nice set of detailed instructions that'll describe how to install these, and again, this prevents the fan from adversely affecting your electrical system on your vehicle. It is designed to work with dual fan assemblies, and if you notice on the harness, it comes with color-coded wiring for easy connections. Each relay will control up to two different fans with a combined maximum draw of 25 continuous amps.

That should do it for the review on the Derale 40/60-Amp Dual Relay Wiring Harnesses for a Dual Fan Assembly.

  • Solution for Mounting Light Kit on Detail K2 Snowplow for 2015 Ram 1500 with LED Headlights
The kit that you want to use for the Detail K2 snow plow on your 2015 Ram 1500 is part # K281488LB2, when I reached out to Buyers Products about the kit # 3371311110 they said not to use their kit for your Ram pickup. With that being said, I do have a way for you to safely install the Detail K2 light kit on your vehicle. You will need to connect the following wiring to the following functions: White - Low Beam Black - Ground Red - High Beam Green - Turn Lamp The current wiring on your...

  • Replacement 4-Terminal Relay to Repair a Dual Electric Fan Assembly
As you probably know there are different types of relays. Relay # TR38665 is a 4-terminal relay but it may or may not work for your application. You may actually need to replace the wiring harnesses as well. Using kit # D16765 is an option. It includes the wiring and the relays. It may be the thermostat or temperature probe that is the issue and not the relay at all. If the thermostat is malfunctioning or the wiring to it or the probe is not in tact then it will not know to kick on or off.

  • Parts Needed to Install Two Single/Dual Stage Radiator Cooling Fans
There are typically two types of radiator cooling fans; single stage fans and dual stage fans. Most single stage fans operate at one speed (high) whereas dual stage fans operate at two speeds (high/low). The Derale 40/60-Amp Dual Relay Wiring Harness part # D16765 will allow you to install both single and dual stage fans but will not convert a single stage fan into a dual stage fan. The Derale 14" High-Output, Electric, Single Radiator Fan part # D18214 is a dual stage fan than can be...

  • What Is Needed To Install the Derale Electric Radiator Fans
I do have everything that you need to use the Derale 27" Dual High-Output, Electric Radiator Fan-and-Shroud Assembly part # D16837 but it does not come with any of the wiring or relays needed to power the fans as Derale stopped including them. It simply comes with the fans, shroud, and mounting bracket/hardware. In order to wire the fan up I recommend using either the PWM Fan Controller part # D16795 or the Derale Dual-Fan Adjustable Fan-Control part # D16788. The main difference between...

  • Depth Dimension Of Derale 32 Inch Dual Tornado Electric Fan
The attached drawing of the Derale 32 inch Dual Tornado Electric Fan Assembly, part # D16834 has the mounting brackets attached. With the brackets attached, the overall depth is 1-3/4 inches. This is intended for tight areas as you said you have. The hardware is not included that you would need to mount the fan to the vehicle. I also recommend the Derale 40/60-Amp Dual Relay Wiring Harness for Dual Fan Assembly, part # D16765, since the fan does draw more than 10 amps. This will help...

  • Dual Electric Fans to Replace Mechanical Fan on a 2001 Ford F-150 with 4.6L V8 Engine
I cannot speak as to the requirements you will need to keep your 4.6L V8 engine cool after removing the mechanical fan but I can say that mechanical fans draw much more CFM than your average electric fan. The typical mechanical fan can draw anywhere from 3,000 to 5,000 CFM, therefore I can see a 3200 CFM electric fan as being a suitable replacement. I recommend taking a look at the Derale 24" Dual, High-Output Electric Radiator Fan w/ Aluminum Shroud part # D16831. This dual fan combo...

I do have have an option for you but there is not an electric OEM fan replacement available for the 4.2L engine unless you go with a universal electric fan like part # D16831 that is a bit more cost effective than the Flexalite. As long as you have 24" wide x 15-1/2" tall x 4-1/2" deep of space behind the radiator, you shouldn't have any issues with installation. This dual fan combo is a high-quality cooling fan system that includes an aluminum shroud and mounting hardware. It moves...
