Shipping was really fast. Video showed exactly how to install it. All components were in the box. I was able to install this hitch in less than an hour by myself. I did not need to raise the vehicle but it was a little tricky to initially get the hitch in place. Once it is in the approximate location (exhaust will hold it up) you can support it with some blocks and the rest is easy. With 2 people it would be even easier. The video mentions the 17mm socket for removing the two bar but be aware that the hitch bolts are actually 20mm. I have a 2021 Venza and after install the rear kick sensor for opening the door still worked. This is my 2nd purchase from etrailer and both have been really easy installs of a great quality hitch.

by:

Easy Peezy! Very clean install. All hardware included. Excellent [online] video from etrailer showing you how to install. I installed this in 30 minutes by myself, using a jackstand to support the weight. No car lift required. Best price on the Internet.

by:

fairly easy install even for a non-mechanic. I use the hitch often for my bike rack and it is super solid and well worth the cosy

The etrailer website made it extremely easy to properly select, order, and promptly receive my Curt trailer hitch. Their on-line video, made specifically for my 2022 Toyota Venza, was a great aid and provided a detailed installation guide. I installed the hitch myself, while lying under the vehicle. The vehicle was positioned so the work area was overhanging the downward sloped portion of the driveway apron, which provided additional working clearance. With temporarily installed hitch bolts inserted on each side, a support/lifting rig (see attached photo) was utilized to easily support and move the hitch into position. As each line was pulled individually, it raised that end of the hitch a small amount, while the device automatically locked each time to hold that position. When the front mounting hole was aligned, a mounting bolt was then loosely installed on each side to support the hitch. The lifting rig was removed, the hitch was manually pushed to its final position, and the two rear bolts, with cup washers, were installed handtight. The front mounting bolts were then removed and reinstalled with their cup washers. All mounting bolts were the tightened, with the driver’s side then properly torqued as required.

As the video stressed, adapters are needed to properly torque the mounting bolts on the passenger’s side and that a local etrailer shop might make them available for use. I drove to New Jersey Line-X, a dealer listed on the etrailer website, in Bound Brook, NJ and for no charge at all, the technician torqued those two remaining bolts and also then checked and confirmed the other two had been torqued correctly.

Overall, I couldn’t be any happier with my total experience and I highly recommend etailer, both as the provider of the hitch and also for the help and guidance they provided to install it. The unexpected customer service provided by New Jersey Line_X really added to the experience.

The hitch is working great. A little tricky for one person to install but I managed to pull it off. Using it for the past year now with my Saris Bike Rack and haven't had any problems. I know I could have settled for the 1 1/4 inch hitch but going robust makes me feel more comfortable when I'm hauling 4 bikes.

by:

This is the third trailer hitch I've ordered this year, and the package is always come completely mangled once they've arrived

by:

After a year no rust because the paint is applied perfectly. Tucked under the toyota venza well. I only use to hold bike rack or cargo rack. Great product.

Excellent quality hitch, I am using it to tow my small trailer and carry my E bike

by:

Easy Peasy. Bolted right up to Venza and have been using with bike rack. No rust and dependable. Good unit.

by:

Great product, great customer service, and great client training videos! After shopping around, Etrailer had the best price. You exceeded my expectations. I’ll be back. Dr. Michael Hakim, Oklahoma City.

1st after market hitch for a 2021 Toyota Venza Hybrid. Note that this model is not rated to tow, but I needed it for a bike hitch. Agreed that this model probably shouldn't tow anything significant; the rear suspension is too soft, but the hitch itself installed and been working perfectly. Stiff and tight, no sway, no noise, no movement of any kind, just makes the rear end sag when loaded with 2 ebikes (total weight about 350 lbs). Note that anything back there will also interfere with the car's rear sensors which will actually stop you from continuing going backwards or even opening the rear hatch.

The hitch has been completely fuss free and continues to function perfectly. The issue is that the Venza has too many sensors and is likely the reason why Toyota does not suggest towing with the Venza, as a lot of the software concerning the rear cross traffic alert systems or the rear collision avoidance systems would need reprogramming. So, the car slams on the brakes anytime I try to back up with the hitch loaded, thinking I am about to hit an obstruction. All of the safety systems and sensors for the rear need to be turned off to avoid whiplash. In addition, as also mentioned, the kick function to open the rear hatch no longer works or the sensor range is restricted and in general, the rear suspension is really does not do well handling the extra weight off the back end. All issues with the car, the hitch itself has been perfect.

Toyota Venza

The hitch install was a breeze on a 2023 Toyota Venza. You will definitely need the tool shown in the install video to torque the passenger side bolts. And the nice thing is, the foot sensor for the lift gate still works.

by:

Only problem was that the wings on each side had been bent with the travel.I had to pry them to open them up because the wouldn't fit on the frame. Also the darned bolts, fine thread, had some problems screwing them in there holes especialy the passenger side, otherwise, nice fit. Sorry, didn't think to take pictures.

by:

The trailer hitch is great. It was a perfect fit for my 2024 Toyota Venza and easy to install. My only complaint is that etrailer did not package it properly. The trailer hitch split open the shipping box, and the hitch is scratched and dinged. This is something that could have been avoided with the correct packing materials.

by:

well packaged and very quick delivery. Install was pretty easy and straightforward. fits luggage
carrier and bike rack perfectly. The price is right considering there is no cost for the DIY install!

by:

Excellent product. Custom made to fit Toyota Venza. Quick and easy install.

by: 08/17/2023

Very good Product. Low rating due to Terrible packaging for shipment. Hitch had broken through multiple places on cardboard box. It was exposed and should have been packaged much better.

2021 Toyota Venza

Tow hitch fit perfectly for my wife’s 2021 Toyota Venza. I installed it myself following online videos. The hitch fits under the bumper so only the working part is exposed below it. The main point was that the kick rear door opening would still work and it does. The only drawback was that item arrived scratched as my previous hitch from E-trailer. Little filing and spray paint fixed it, but it was an extra cost and extra work. I wish they pack it better to prevent damage of prominent parts and item would be ready to install straight out of the box.

by:

Exactly what I ordered. This installed very easy I did it on the ground with a snap on spot light and a 19mm ratcheting wrench. I used an impact on the driver side because it had the room for it the other side was a slight hassle because of the lack of room. Short story long this was perfect.

by:

Perfect fit, easy install, and looks great. Holds the ebike as needed. What more could you ask for?

by:
2023 Toyota Venza

Even though, there was issue with the hardware, but that’s part of factory’s processes which can be forgiven. Etrailer’s customer support is great. Thank you!

by:

Great experience. Arrived in 3 days in perfect condition. Installation video instruction for my car made things very clear and simple. It took less than 1 hour to install and it looks great. I would definitely shop with etrailer again.

by:

This has got to be one of the most simple hitch installs I’ve done (this is my second one, my last one was on a 2018 Camry) no cutting involved, just a simple tow adapter removal (2 bolts) and hitch install, which was 4 bolts. Took about 30 mins total to install.

by:
2023 Toyota Venza

Nice reciever ass.comes out under number. Easy peasy

by:

Product came in as advertised and was a perfect fit for my 2022 Toyota Venza!

The directions were easy to follow and I was able to install in less than 45 minutes.

If you perform the installation on the ground, highly suggest you use a floor jack to hold and maneuver the hitch while you are inserting the bolts as the unit is heavy and cumbersome.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C89UR which is a fit for a 2021 Toyota Venza has a class III rating therefore the lowest the tongue weight could ever be is 350 lbs but for this hitch it's actually a bit higher at 525 lbs. • What Hitch, Wiring, and Brake Controller do You Recommend for a 2022 Toyota Venza?
For the best hitch option we carry for your 2022 Toyota Venza, I recommend going with the Curt Hitch - 2" # C89UR. Not only does it come with the easiest installation process out of the hitches we have, it also comes with a superior outer gloss coater over the base powder coat that provides more resistance against rust and corrosion than the Draw-Tite and etrailer option. It comes with all required installation hardware for a bolt-on installation. As far as wiring, you need both a 4-way...

  • Easiest to Install Trailer Hitch & Wiring Harness For 2022 Toyota Venza
Let's go ahead and start with the hitch, and the easiest install on your 2022 Toyota Venza is the hitch from Curt. The reason for that is you only need to bolt the hitch on, so what you need is the following part number: - Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C89UR Then for the wiring harness, while I wouldn't classify any as "easy" necessarily, the less complex is the T-Connector that plugs into taillight housing. The ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 119250KIT is certainly reliable,...

The Curt trailer wiring kit part # C57ER that you referenced that fits your 2022 Toyota Venza does not relocate the sensor for the hands free liftgate of your vehicle. We do not offer kits like this for any vehicles but with a hitch installed on your vehicle like the Curt # C89UR you'd just need to kick to either side of the hitch to activate the liftgate.

  • Understanding Hitch Class of Curt Hitch that Fits 2021 Toyota Venza
The Curt hitch that fits your 2021 Toyota Venza # C89UR is interesting in that it has the 2 inch hitch size that Class III hitches normally have but has the lower weight capacity of a Class I hitch. So what this calls attention to is the hitch Classification is mostly just used as a way to organize the different capacities and hitch sizes but the "rules" on them aren't set in stone. So with this hitch you'd have a 2 inch hitch that has the lower capacities.

  • Class III Receiver Hitch for 2021 Toyota Venza
Curt just came out with a hitch fit for the 2021 Toyota Venza, it's part # C89UR. If you'll be towing with the hitch, you'll need a trailer wiring harness like # C59496, a ball mount and the properly sized trailer ball. For a ball mount, you'll need to measure the receiver height once the hitch is installed and compare it to the coupler height of your trailer when it's jacked up so it's level. You'll likely need the # 2753 ball mount, but you might want to use the help article I've linked...
