For the best hitch option we carry for your 2022 Toyota Venza, I recommend going with the Curt Hitch - 2" # C89UR. Not only does it come with the easiest installation process out of the hitches we have, it also comes with a superior outer gloss coater over the base powder coat that provides more resistance against rust and corrosion than the Draw-Tite and etrailer option. It comes with all required installation hardware for a bolt-on installation.

As far as wiring, you need both a 4-way harness and a 7-way harness in order to control trailer brakes. For the 4-way you'll need the Curt Upgraded Circuit Protected Powered Tail Light Converter w Hardwire Kit and Tester - 4-Pole Flat # C59496.

The 7-way harness you need is the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat # ETBC7. This is a universal-style harness that requires you to splice into your factory wiring. Once this harness is installed, you can install a brake controller to control the trailer's brakes.

If you need a brake controller, I recommend either the Curt Echo # C51180. Apart from being completely wireless, the Echo is a proportional controller which means that the controller activates the trailer brakes in proportion to your vehicle's braking action. With this type, you do not need to worry about adjusting the delay time that is required for time-delay controllers. Another benefit of the Echo is that it does not require any additional plug-in harnesses to activate and function. You simply plug it into the 7-way plug and you are good to go!

I went ahead and attached some helpful videos for you to check out.
