How to Transport a Canoe or Kayak on My 2021 Toyota Venza with Panoramic Roof

Hi! I have a 2021 Toyota Venza Hybrid Limited with the panaramic roof. Id like to carry a kayak or canoe. Is there a roof rack system that will fit my vehicle?

Yes! We have a compatible roof rack for your 2021 Toyota Venza. That system is the SeaSucker Monkey Bars # 298-SX6000B. With the vacuum cups, these will mount right onto your bare roof as well as the panoramic glass. Although, we always recommend that you consult with your Toyota's owner's manual to make sure that your roof and the glass portion of your vehicle can accommodate the weight you wish to transport. If you go with this option, the best way to mount the Monkey Bars is by putting the rear bar on the roof itself and the front bar on the glass so that there is weight decreased from the glass. I went ahead and attached a video that displays the true strength of the SeaSucker's vacuum cups. To add theft deterrence, I recommend using the etrailer Cable Lock # e98891 with the window cable anchor # 298-BA0010. To make installing the kayak much much easier, the Rightline Gear Moki Step # RL100660 is a life saver.

For the kayak/canoe carrier that attaches to the Monkey Bars, a great option is the Malone FoldAway 5 # MAL38FR. This carrier allows you to transport 1 canoe or up to 2 kayaks at a time. It also comes with all the straps you need on order to to safely secure your boats to the Monkey Bars and to your vehicle.

If you find that you do not have the required weight capacity on your roof/glass, the only other option we have is to use a trailer like the CE Smith Multi Sport Plus Boat and Kayak Trailer w/ Bunks # CE48870. This trailer can accommodate canoes and kayaks up to 14 feet long. If you go this route, you need a compatible hitch receiver. For the hitch, I recommend using the Curt Hitch - 2" # C89UR. Since this hitch has a pinhole that is 14-1/2 inches from the ground, it has the perfect height to use with the # CE48870.

In addition to the trailer and hitch, you need a 2" ball mount with a straight shank like the Curt # C45002. For theft-deterrence of the mount, you can travel worry-free with the trailer hitch lock # e98880. Also, you need a 4-way wiring harness to plug in the trailer's 4-way to have tail light functions. For that harness with your Venza, you need the Curt T-Connector # C57ER.
